Prismtide Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the game Prismtide (Android and Windows) by Starlyware handles your data, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). In short: the game collects no personal data. The website and the other Starlyware services are covered by the general Privacy Policy, and purchases on Google Play by the Google Play Terms of Service.

1. Data Controller

The data controller is Starlyware di Gianluca Grasso, Chieti (CH), Italy. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, write to info@starlyware.com.

2. At a Glance

  • Prismtide has no account, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting tools and no tracking.
  • Starlyware has no server for the game: nothing you do in Prismtide is sent to us.
  • Your progress (levels, coins, pearls, skins and settings) is saved only on your device.
  • The game asks for no device permissions such as location, contacts, camera or microphone.
  • In-app purchases on Android are handled entirely by Google Play. The Windows version has no purchases and does not connect to the internet.
  • We do not sell or share your data, and we do not collect personal data from children or adults.

3. Data We Process

3.1 Game progress on your device

Prismtide saves a small file in the app's private storage with your progress: unlocked levels, pearls found, coins, the skins you own and the one you are using, the language, music and sound settings and whether you have unlocked Full Ocean or the Supporter Pack. This file never leaves your device and contains no personal data. On Windows it is saved in the user data folder of your Windows account (%APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Prismtide).

If Android backup is turned on in your phone settings, Android may include this file in the backup of your Google account, as for any other app.

3.2 In-app purchases (Android)

The purchases “Full Ocean” and “Supporter Pack” are handled entirely by Google Play through the Google Play Billing service: we never receive your name, your email address, your card or your payment method. To show prices and confirm or restore a purchase, the game talks to the Google Play app on your device, which needs an internet connection. Like every developer, we see in the Google Play Console the order details of each purchase (order number, product, price, date and country), which we keep for accounting and tax purposes. Google processes your payment data under the Google Payments Privacy Notice.

3.3 What we do not collect

Prismtide does not collect or send any identifiers, location, contacts, photos, audio, usage statistics or device data. It contains no advertising, analytics or crash reporting SDKs and no links to social networks. The only network permissions in the Android app (internet and network state) are used by Google Play Billing for purchases.

3.4 Diagnostics from Google Play

If you have agreed to share usage and diagnostics data with Google on your phone, Google Play may give us aggregated reports about crashes and app performance, which do not identify you.

3.5 Contacting us

If you write to us by email or use the bug report form, we receive the data you choose to send (for example your email address and the description of the problem) and use it only to answer you. This is covered by the general Privacy Policy.

4. Purposes and Legal Bases

  • Performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): saving your progress on the device and handling the purchases you make.
  • Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)): accounting and tax obligations for purchases, requests from authorities.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): answering your messages and fixing the bugs you report.

5. Recipients and Service Providers

We do not sell or transfer your data. The only provider involved in the game is Google (Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC), for distribution on Google Play, payments, Android backup and the aggregated diagnostics described above. Data may also be disclosed to public authorities, only when required by law.

6. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your progress is stored on your device. Order details are stored in the Google Play Console. Google may process data also outside the European Union, in particular in the United States: such transfers are based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Retention

  • Progress on your device: until you clear the app data or uninstall the game.
  • Order details of purchases: for the period required by tax law (in Italy, 10 years).
  • Emails and bug reports: for the time needed to answer and fix the problem, then deleted.

8. Your Choices

  • Delete your progress at any time by clearing the app data in the Android settings or uninstalling the game (on Windows, by deleting the folder shown in section 3.1).
  • Purchases stay linked to your Google account: after reinstalling, tap Restore purchases in the game.
  • Parents can require a password or approval for every purchase in the Google Play settings or with Google Family Link.
  • For refunds, follow the Google Play refund procedure or write to us.

9. Your Rights

Under Articles 15-22 of the GDPR you have the right to access your data, ask for its rectification or erasure, ask for the restriction of processing or object to it, receive it in a structured format (portability) and lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of your country.

Since Prismtide keeps your progress only on your device, you can delete it yourself as described in section 8. For anything else, write to info@starlyware.com. We reply within one month.

10. People in Canada

Starlyware is based in Italy and the GDPR applies to the processing described in this policy. If you are in Canada, we also follow the principles of the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, of Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

  • Accountability: Gianluca Grasso, owner of Starlyware, is responsible for our compliance with privacy rules and can be reached at info@starlyware.com.
  • Consent and purposes: the game does not collect personal information. Order details of purchases are used only for accounting and tax purposes, as permitted by law.
  • Your rights: you can ask us for access to your personal information, to know how it is used and shared, to correct it and to delete it. We reply within 30 days and do not charge a fee.
  • Transfers outside Canada: order details are processed by Google, possibly in the United States, and can therefore be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country, under its laws.
  • Questions and complaints: write to us first at info@starlyware.com. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (www.priv.gc.ca) or, if you live in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (www.cai.gouv.qc.ca).

11. Children

Prismtide is designed to be suitable for players of all ages, including children. The game does not collect personal information from anyone, so it does not collect personal information from children: there is no account, no chat, no ads and no data sent to Starlyware. Purchases can only be made through the Google account on the device, under Google Play's rules for parental controls. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email or through the bug report form, write to us and we will delete it.

12. Security

The progress file is saved in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Purchases are processed and verified by Google Play over encrypted connections.

13. Changes

We may update this policy for new features of the game or changes in the law. The date of the last update is shown at the top. In case of important changes we will let you know in the notes of the update on Google Play.
