Starlyze is a native Android mobile application developed beginning in February 2023. The project was conceived to offer space enthusiasts an interactive environment structured around scientific educational content as well as community engagement.
Rather than acting as a real-time 3D sky map or virtual planetarium, Starlyze implements a content-focused and community-driven approach: the software architecture provides encyclopedic datasheets covering solar system planets, natural satellites, stars, and space missions, supplemented with social discussion and astronomical event calendars.
Architecture & Technology Stack
Key Implemented Features
The application structure bridges scientific accuracy with intuitive social network interactions:
- Celestial Body Catalog: comprehensive scientific sheets on planets, moons, prominent stars, and constellations navigated through reactive views.
- Astronomical Calendar & Alerts: schedule tracking and notifications for meteor showers, planetary oppositions, eclipses, and visible orbital passes.
- Community & Social Integration: secure user accounts via Firebase Authentication, favorite lists, and personal observation logs.
"Starlyze provided an ideal architecture to validate distributed NoSQL databases for scientific reference data on Firebase, ensuring swift offline caching and smooth navigation across rich media entries."
The software is currently being maintained and expanded internally while pedagogical content and interactive modules are completed.
