1. In the app (immediate)
- Open Starlyze and sign in with the account you want to delete.
- Tap Profile at the bottom, then Edit Profile.
- Tap Delete My Account and confirm.
- For your safety the app may ask you to sign in again before continuing, if you have not signed in in the last few minutes.
Deletion is immediate and permanent.
2. By email (without the app)
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, write to info@starlyware.com from the email address of your account, with the subject "Starlyze - Account deletion". If you signed in with Google, write from the email address linked to that account.
We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We delete the account within 30 days of the request and let you know by email when it is done.
3. Data That Is Deleted
- Sign-in account (email, password or Google link)
- Profile: name, username, photo, bio, equipment and badges
- Your posts with their photos, and the likes, comments, replies and credibility votes that other users left on them
- The dark sky spots you created
- All your private conversations, with all their messages, also for the other person
- Follows (those you made and those you received), saved posts, blocks
- Notifications and the device identifier for push notifications
- Suggestions sent, app rating and verified badge requests
- "Supporter" purchase data held by us
The position you use for the "Tonight's sky" forecast is stored only on your phone: we do not delete it, it is removed when you change it or uninstall the app.
4. Data That Is Kept
- Comments, replies and likes left on other people's posts: they are not removed automatically. They stay without your name (the author is shown as "deleted user"). You can ask us to remove them by writing to info@starlyware.com.
- Reports: reports you made or received and the copies kept to evaluate them are kept for the time needed to protect the community (copies of comments and profiles are deleted 180 days after the case is closed, copies of messages 90 days after the report).
- Content previously removed by moderation: any archived copy is kept until the expiry chosen at removal (at most 24 months), then deleted automatically.
- Accounts suspended for violations: they cannot be deleted. Email, username, date and reason of the suspension are kept to prevent further abuse.
- Log of administrative operations: up to 24 months, for security.
- Internal moderation notes: kept as long as needed to protect the community and to handle disputes, then deleted.
- Server technical logs: normally 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you.
- Google Play orders: kept by Google according to its legal obligations. Deleting the account does not cancel or refund purchases.
5. Deleting Only Some Data
Without deleting your account you can, directly in the app, delete your posts, comments, dark sky spots and messages, change or remove your profile photo, bio and equipment, unfollow and block users. For any other request write to info@starlyware.com.
