Purrstellar Pesca & Mora and the Stardust Thief

Every evening Pesca and Mora watch the stars from their hammock on the window. One night the stars start going out, one after another: a long hose from the observatory on the hill is sucking them up like crumbs. No stars, no dreams… no naps! Two cat sisters, two ways of playing, eight worlds to bring the stardust back to the sky.

The story

Eight jars of stardust and a very lonely robot

Pesca is four years old, white with a black cap and a black tail: calm, strong and a champion napper. Mora is six months old, a calico kitten who never stops, sticks her nose everywhere and sits on keyboards. They are sisters. More or less.

The night the stars go out, their old friend Kikka tells them the legend: stardust falls from the stars, and it is what makes cats dream. Somebody has closed it in eight jars, guarded by the helpers of Vortex, a dark robot vacuum with red eyes who lives in the observatory.

Along the way the sisters meet Chloe, a chocolate puppy who chews everything (“It wasn’t me”), Nyako, master of the roofs, Luna, keeper of the night, and Karen, the computer from Prismtide. And they discover that Vortex is not really bad. He is just very alone.

No stars, no dreams… no naps!

The last star to light up again has a name. You will find out which at the end.

Abilities

Six abilities, taught by friends

Three for Pesca, three for Mora. Each one opens new paths through the levels.

Paw Swipe

Pesca · World 1, from Kikka

Knocks vases and books off the shelves: books become steps, vases make the robots dizzy.

Moonlit Fur

Pesca · World 6, from Luna

In the dark Pesca’s white fur glows, and the bridges of stars appear near her.

Purr

Pesca · World 7, from Kikka

A purr so relaxing that robots and sentinels nearby go haywire for a few seconds.

Climb

Mora · World 3, from Nyako

Hold up next to curtains, scratching posts and ladders to climb them.

Dash

Mora · World 4, from Chloe

A run-up and a dash across wide gaps and through the cardboard walls.

Shadow

Mora · World 6, from Luna

Mora becomes a shadow and the sentinels can’t see her, nor the sister following her.

Two real cats, one starry sky

Godot 4 GDScript Pixel art Google Play Billing MSIX

Pesca and Mora are the two cats of Gianluca Grasso, the developer behind Starlyware. In real life they are not sisters, but they don’t know it. Kikka, Chloe, Nyako and Luna are real animals too, drawn from their photos.

Purrstellar is made with Godot 4, like Prismtide and Prismtide 2, with hand-made levels, original music and the same pixel-art care. The night sky is a love letter to the dark skies of Abruzzo, where the stars are still easy to see.

Some old friends come back too: Karen, the Starlyware voice assistant from 2015, and a little rainbow fish who knows a thing or two about adventures.
