Long description: Starlyware is an independent software studio founded by Gianluca Grasso and based in Chieti, Italy. Its roots go back to 10 August 2013, when Gianluca founded Best Maker Software, the developer name of his first apps, Windows software and 2D games; on 17 March 2019 the project became Starlyware. Today the studio builds custom software, websites and IT solutions for businesses, and develops its own products: the Windows code editor StarlyCode Studio and a family of Android apps for curious minds, from the mineral identifier GeoCrystal to the Abruzzo nature guide WildLife, the phone science lab StarlyLab and the astronomy community Starlyze.

The founder

Gianluca Grasso is a software developer from Caserta who has lived in Abruzzo since 2022. He started programming as a child, in 2007, with Game Maker: in 2008, at eight, he created his first game, Oceano, writing his first code in GML, and in the same years he learned HTML, CSS and PHP. From 2012 he studied Visual Basic, C#, C, Java, JavaScript and Basic4Android, with which he built his first Android apps, such as the voice assistant Karen (2015). On 10 August 2013 he founded Best Maker Software, the developer name of his first apps and programs, including Create Sites, announced in 2014 and renamed StarlyCode Studio in 2020. On 17 March 2019 Best Maker Software became Starlyware. Today he designs and develops all Starlyware apps in Java with Android Studio, from the interface to the server.
